At the Zoo Blijdorp 2020

ZOOS ARE OPEN! So it ZOO TIME and me visited a lot of zoos lately. So on July 2nd me went to Blijdorp in Rotterdam. It was a nice warm day and we saw so many animals. It was also the first time Berry went to see the bigger sharks (and she no was scared) in an aquarium. Me posed with some sharks too. It was amazing. Wanna see the pictures? Then read along.

At the Zoo: Ecomare 2020

Me went to Texel, me went to Texel! Tee hee! Me went on vacation in the beginning of June and me told you a lot about me vacation last Saturday, but me left out the bestest of best parts: me visited Ecomare! Yes me love to visit this educational and rescue centre, because you can learn so much about the Dutch North- and mostly Waddensea. And there are seals!!! Me just love seals. They look soooo adorable with there big eyes. Just like me, hihi. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Summer vacation time at Texel

Me went to Texel! Me went to Texel! Me went to TEXEL! Yes me did early June this year. Me just love to go to the largest Wadden island of the Netherlands. It no mind if it storming or raining… sunny and hot… the island is just beautiful. And this year was extra special because Berry brought her bike! Yay. At the Zoo: Beekse Bergen 2020

After weeks of being closed the zoos started to open again thanks to lifted corona rules at the end of May. Me no could WAIT to go to a zoo again. It had been such a looooong time. Luckily the sun was shining and Berry and her dad and me made a timeslot reservation for Safaripark Beekse Bergen. And… we went! It was a BEAUTIFUL day and me was just soooo happy me no could stop smiling. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Nature trips

Corona hit the Netherlands in the spring time. Around March 14 the government took some measures to kick this epidemic in the behind. Day trips closed, so no zoos and no museums. Stores closed – but we are not really the shopping type anyhow. But what made me really sad is that the Keukenhof would not open… that is why me posted the blog about Keukenhof with some lovely memories in March. Me was really looking forward to see the spring flowers and play in the colours of nature… So… Berry and me went biking through our neighbourhood to find spring colours and even some animals. Cookies Efteling Adventures 2019

If you follow me on Instagram than you know me LOVE the Efteling. Me have blogged about it over the years too. In short, Efteling is a Dutch themepark. The theme? FAIRYTALES. There is a fairytale forest where lil Red Riding Hood lives (me love her, she has cookies) and ofcourse the dragon and the wolf and a giant and many more. There are fun rides, roller coasters, dark rides and such. Lucky me got to visit the Efteling A LOT OF TIMES last year. And by a lot me mean 4 times. One time for a workthingy, two times as part of birthday celebrations and one time with Aapie (Fairytale adventures with Aapie in Efteling). So… come with me and enjoy me Efteling Adventures of 2019. Frolicking at Keukenhof with friends

O boy o boy me hosted an instameet on April 7 2019 at one of me fave places of the Netherlands: Keukenhof. Something about the colourful flowers and us plushies just totally match. So... we hopped on a train, got to wait an hour to get on the bus and totally arrived late at the meeting ourselfs, but it was great! The Jumi was there and Tibby the travelling Teddy and the Grecocrochet family too! It was amazing! Me also brought nijntje, because a year before we had adopted her from Keukenhof and she just really wanted to go back again! (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Instameets by the sea

Ah the sea. Me love the sandy beaches, the soaring seagulls and the waves rolling on to the beach… it so soothing… Luckily in the Netherlands we have loads of beaches to choose from. There are many great places to go and it even better with friends! That why over the Summer me had not one but two instameets by the sea. Me gonna tell you all about them.

An awesome instameet in Artis

On May 27 me and Berry hopped on the train to Amsterdam to meet our sweet friends Tessa and Woody (of Richie and Keith the rebels) for some quality fun in the sun. We decided to go to Artis again. Me was a little nervous about that, because well… because of the last time me was there and that horrible eye accident (me told you about that in me previous post). But Berry promised me this time Artis would be only fun. And you know what… she was totally right!

This year me already have visited many zoos. In January Berry and me – well, mostly Berry – needed to clear her mind so we went to Artis in Amsterdam (it also known as Amsterdam Zoo). It was January 30 when we went. Although it was winter time, it surely felt like a spring day. Me was really excited to go to Artis, because me never been there before. The last time Berry was there she was just a little girl. So… it was about time to experience this zoo together.

Instameets at Keukenhof 2018

Me love Keukenhof – but me bet you knew that already. It too bad me have to wait till next year for the Tulip Gardens to open again. But, in the meantime me have lots of great pictures and memories to look back on from this year. Me was lucky enough to have visited the Keukenhof 5 times this year: 3 times for Berry her work/blog and 2 times with friends for instameet (and one in prompt instameet hihi). This week me will tell you all about the Keukenhof visits. Me start with the instameets.

Writing about all these cool instameets me had this year so far made me think about the one me had with Candy, Wendy and Henry last year in Amsterdam. You know, it was me very, very, very, very first instameeting and me and Berry were a lil nervous for it and very excited too. Let me tell you more about that day.

I went to the zoo – a blog by Hope

I went on an adventurous assignment to the Fort Worth Zoo earlier in May. I had never been to a zoo before. It was a warm day and we had packed our lunch with peanut butter and grape jelly sandwiches, ginger ale and some fruit and a package of Oreo cookies. I was hungry as soon as we arrived, but I’m always hungry. This zoo was founded in 1909 and when it opened it had a lion, 2 bear cubs, a peacock, an alligator, a rabbit and a coyote. It now has 435 species and does conservation work and is listed as a top zoo in the USA. It spans 64 acres.

Giant Cookie in MiniWorld Rotterdam

Berry had to go to MiniWorld Rotterdam in December and guess who tagged along… heehee… yes! ME! That no surprise, right? She had to go there for her blog (Dutch readers can check it out here: Nieuw in MiniWorld Rotterdam: Belasting & Douane Museum). And me? Well me always tag along with me human bestie. Also MiniWorld Rotterdam was so great, me wanted to write me own blog about it. So come along with me, because me gonna tell you all about it!

Cookies Amazing Campingtrip – sort of…

Hey everybody! Me have been on a fun campingtrip last week. Well… sort of. Me went to the Vakantiebeurs here in The Netherlands. Translated you can say the Holiday Fair. It a huge fair that lasts almost a week, where you can get a taste of different cool vacation spots. It really possible to travel the whole world in one day! You will be tired at the end of it, but you have seen it all. It is a great way to experience all kinds of cool things and get a taste of the beautiful world we live in. So… will you come with me on me pretend campingtrip?

It’s poisonous!

Me really love Berry her job, because she takes me everywhere! Even to an exhibition about… poison. Or better yet: VENOM. Yes. The exhibition in Dutch is called GIF! and can be seen at Naturalis in Leiden, the Netherlands. The exhibition was dedicated to the famous scientist (well he is very famous in the Netherlands) dr. Freek Vonk. He travels all around the world to look for animals and other natural phenomena’s and tells kids about them in a television show. He even got bitten by a shark! But he survived and has a huge scar to prove it all happened. Well... Berry took me and her youngest nephew on a traintrip to Leiden to meet Freek and to meet all these creepy crawlers and such who are indeed poisonous!

Cookie loves panda bears

You know me love going to the zoo, right? Well in the Netherlands we have lots of zoos. One even more special than the other. One of me fave zoos is Ouwehands Dierenpark, because they have this amazing bearforest and polar bears and penguins, gorillas and African elephants and… panda bears! They live here since this Spring and are called Wu Wen (the girl) and Xing Ya (the boy). Ofcourse me went to visit them. It a while ago though, but me wanted to show you anyways. It was amazing. These bears are so beautiful!

Cookie loves Texel – vacation 2017

WHOA it been a while since me got the time to write some blogs! Berry is helping me planning it out, so no worries, me no have left yet. It been a while too since me has been on vacation. Me had a great time on Texel (again) this year. Me visited the seals at Ecomare again, but also for the first time went to Texel Zoo. Cookie at the Museum: ART Amsterdam/KunstRAI 2017

Okay, technically the KunstRAI or Amsterdam ART is no museum. It is an art fair where art collectors, companies and enthusiasts can meet gallery holders and get to experience and discover all kinds of arts. Berry went as an art enthusiast and for her blog (if you can read Dutch, you can find it at Writing Berries) and because me always go with her, me got to come too. And as you know, me love art! And there was so much to see!

Cookie at the Keukenhof - part 3

Hello everybody! Here me is again with the third and last part about me visiting the Keukenhof. You must know, Keukenhof only opens 8 weeks per year in the springtime. The first time on March 21 was because Berry was invited for the opening of the season. The second time on April 11 we went for the opening of the orchid exhibit and the blessing of the flowers for the Vatican. And the third – and sadly last time this season – was on May 18. Berry took her nan and me took Bamboo to admire the flowers. Needless to say they were both in awe with the beauty of Keukenhof.
