Cookie at the Museum: ART Amsterdam/KunstRAI 2017

Okay, technically the KunstRAI or Amsterdam ART is no museum. It is an art fair where art collectors, companies and enthusiasts can meet gallery holders and get to experience and discover all kinds of arts. Berry went as an art enthusiast and for her blog (if you can read Dutch, you can find it at Writing Berries) and because me always go with her, me got to come too. And as you know, me love art! And there was so much to see!
(All pictures made by Berry de Nijs)

Me honest: me did no like everything. But there was lots me did like and even love. Me loved the woodcarvings of tigers and such (me no know the artist anymore, sorry). And me really loved the recycle art baboons! They are a little sad too though, because all the parts used to make them were found on the beach. All the recyle art was made by Gilles Cenazandotti. Me thought it was awesome.

Then we went to another gallery where we met up with this amazing Siamese teddy art by Jeanette Janssen. This bear represents that nog everybody is perfect and that being differen also means you are still cuddly and sweet. Well… me thinks that makes the teddies really awesome and perfect. Or pawfect.

Also at the fair we bumped into art that made me really happy: statues made by Marjolijn Mandersloot. She is AWESOME. The first time me discovered her art was at Beeldentuin Anningahof (a statuegarden). Me fell in love with her Grazzly bear. If you no remember, me wrote a fun blog about it. At ART Amsterdam me met up with a huge bunny, three white yeti’s (or gorilla’s) called Hunks, the little Apr├Ęs-ski piggy, a sweet bronze bear, a cheetah and black panther and… a hippo called Sleeping Bag. It kinda looked like me friends Jennie and Bubbles!

Well, that was me story about KunstRAI. Me hope you liked it. Next time me will tell you more about some awesome Zoo visits. Until next time. Bye bye for now!

Cookie at the Keukenhof - part 3

Hello everybody! Here me is again with the third and last part about me visiting the Keukenhof. You must know, Keukenhof only opens 8 weeks per year in the springtime. The first time on March 21 was because Berry was invited for the opening of the season. The second time on April 11 we went for the opening of the orchid exhibit and the blessing of the flowers for the Vatican. And the third – and sadly last time this season – was on May 18. Berry took her nan and me took Bamboo to admire the flowers. Needless to say they were both in awe with the beauty of Keukenhof.

Berry made sure to take lots of pictures of our little flowerchild Bamboo and of me ofcourse. Bamboo especially loved the yellow and orange tulips. The yellow ones because they matched with his headband. And the orange ones well… because that is his fave colour. Me loved to see his happy face. Ofcourse we tried to see as much of the park as we could. We even went to see the music organ (draaiorgel) and fountain. It was great. And we saw a great expo about Dutch design too. Do you like our camping spot?

Also it was so great to see how different the park was looking at the almost end of the season! The first time there were no much tulips outside, but in the greenhouse it was tulip heaven. The second time it was tulip heaven everywhere in so many colours and the third time we saw all these black and purples and whites and such. It was great. And the greenhouse? It was empty! Well not really empty, but the tulips were gone. Now there were some garden inspiration sites. With nice benches, chairs and such. Also at the pavilion there was a Lily exhibit with framed lily compositions and more. It was amazing.

Bamboo and me had so much fun! We no can choose between the many many pictures we took. Me hope you love the ones we picked out this time. Next year the park will open again on March 22 until May 13. Me sure hope Berry will take us again!

Bye Bye for now!

Cookie at the museum: Urban Larsson

On April 25th 2017 me went to the Mesdag Collectie in The Hague. It a museum near the Peace Palace. This museum is really special. It used to be the home and art studio of the family and artists Mr. and Mrs. Mesdag. They not only artists themselves. They also collected a lot of art. Hence the name: Mesdag Collectie (collection). Their own collection (made and collected) can be admired at their old home. Twice a year the museum organises a special exhibit. This Spring and Summer you can see the magnificent exhibit with the most beautiful artwork made by Urban Larsson

The most special part of the day was that Mr. Larsson was there himself to tell more about his artwork. He also is very good in different art disciplines: portrait, scenery and still life. Not many artists are masters in all these different art types. Me loved his portraits very much. But everything he paints is so real and life like. Me glad he no did make a painting of cookies. Me maybe wanted to eat them…

Me thinks all paintings were wonderful. And yes, me must say again: it are all paintings! Awesome huh!

Byebye for now!

Cookie at the Keukenhof – part 2

Yes me know! Me know! Me is far behind on writing me stories on me blog. Me know. Me sorry. It Berry her fault really. She has been hogging the laptop for months now. Well, me no can complain, because me proud of her working so hard. And me profits from it too. So… no complaining from me. But me sorry it took a while to tell more about the second time me visited Keukenhof. It was April 11th and we went to Lisse because the flowers for the Pope would be blessed that day before they were send off to the Vatican to decorate the square on Easter morning. After the official press moment, we were allowed to visit the rest of the park. And boy did we had fun!

After the first time me was in awe how many flowers were in bloom! Me went to the garden of Rob Verlinden, a famous Dutch garden architect on TV, we went to the Mondriaan/Rietveld garden and posed with all the beautiful flowers too. We also went to the Willem-Alexander pavilion again to admire the many many tulips there. That was lots of fun, because at the pavilion me met Rufus the panda bear from North America! We even posed for a picture together. Cool huh!

This time we visited the Beatrix pavilion – we no saw that last time and the day before the orchid exhibit had opened, so we really wanted to go there. Me no could believe me googly eyes! Me saw so many beautiful orchids. It was amazing. They even had blue orchids on display! They looked amazing. Also surrounded by the many orchids were Dutch Design fashion and furniture. It was a great exhibit!

Well… needless to say it again was a great day. Keukenhof sure is beautiful! Too bad it only is open for 8 weeks a year… But did you know we went a third time too? Yes we did. And Bamboo could come too, to see the tulips. We went a a few days before closing time… But me will tell you about that later. Bye bye for now!
