O boy. Happy International Polar Bear Day! Me really love polar bears. They look so fuzzy and white. There are few zoos in the Netherlands where polar bears live, but me really love to watch them whenever me can. Yes, me have to visit polar bears at the zoo. Sometimes me is scared that the zoo will be the only place on earth where polar bears can survive. With the melting ice at the North Pole, polar bears have less and less space to live. That makes me so sad sometimes. Polar Bear Day is a day where we must celebrate the polar bears and think how we can help them survive in the wild. And maybe their zoo family can help us to teach us how. Happy Polar Bear Day people. Me is going to hug a plushie one today.

Happy Birthday to Sammie! Yes, our puppy turned three today and he is handsome as ever. And you know what the best part of a birthday is? Birthday cuddles, birthday presents and birthday CAKE! O boy O boy. But me stick to birthday cookie, because Berry made Sammie a special pie for dogs with meat, parsley and such... It looks yummy though... maybe me will just take a bite too. Happy Birthday!

O boy O boy today it is such a fun holiday. Although me not know if Oscar likes it. It is ‘Do A Grouch A Favor Day’. It means you do something for a Grouch and maybe he or she will feel better by that. Me is going to do Oscar a favor today. Me will give him all the used and empty cookie boxes me have been saving for this occasion. They are all smelly and ripped with faded illustration. Me thinks he will like it, what do you think? What will you give a Grouch on ‘Do A Grouch A Favor Day’? (image: courtesy of the Seasame Street Workshop)

Me have blogged about Tonga and Sabari before. And me just love this King & Queen of DierenPark Amersfoort. Me love it when they are so close me can almost touch them. You not think they would eat a fuzzy, blue and sweet monster like me, do you? On January 30th me pretended me could cuddle with them, while they were sleeping at the window. And now finally me can share some of those gorgeous pictures. Aren’t they just the most beautiful couple? It is true lion love!

Hello! Have you all got a sweater, jumper or cardigan on today? It is Warm Sweater Day in the Netherlands. It is a way to ask for extra attention for the global warming in the world. By turning down the heat – and putting on some sweaters or such – we can save energy and the planet. Every year on the first Friday of February Greenchoice asks all Dutch to participate. Most of the time wearing a sweater isn’t extra luxury, it can be really cold! Like today. Me is so happy Berry knitted me a sweater. Now me is only blue because of me natural fur color, and not because me is cold. Happy Warm Sweater Day everybody!

O boy O boy it really is winter here in the Netherlands! It is freezing cold outside and the frost is nibbling at everything it sees. It makes me want to nibble at some delicious cookies with a big mug of cocoa. Yes: me is going to make some hot chocolate today. The easy way, because me is a little impatient sometimes.
The easy way: with instant cocoa
Me love to use instant cocoa with hot water. Just scoop in some cocoa, pour some of the hot water over it, stir, pour some more, stir some more and you have a great cup of hot chocolate. You can put on some whipped cream or put some marshmallows in it. Just like you love it.
Or try this easy recipe for one
Me found this yummy recipe at Epicurious.com. Just follow the easy steps – or ask someone to help. Hey, me ask help all the time…
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocao powder
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar (add to taste)
- a pinch of salt
- 1 cup of milk – this can be cow milk, goat milk, soy milk, almond milk… just what you like
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix the cocoa, sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small sauce- or milkpan over a medium/low heat until the cocoa and the sugar are complete disappeared. Mix in the rest of the milk over a medium heat. Whisk occasionally until the mixture is hot. Stir in the vanilla and add whipped cream or marshmallows to taste.
O, this is gonna be so good! Enjoy your hot chocolate. Me sure me will! Me gonna add a yummy cookie in the mix.
