Cookie’s Kitchen: Hot Chocolate

O boy O boy it really is winter here in the Netherlands! It is freezing cold outside and the frost is nibbling at everything it sees. It makes me want to nibble at some delicious cookies with a big mug of cocoa. Yes: me is going to make some hot chocolate today. The easy way, because me is a little impatient sometimes.

The easy way: with instant cocoa
Me love to use instant cocoa with hot water. Just scoop in some cocoa, pour some of the hot water over it, stir, pour some more, stir some more and you have a great cup of hot chocolate. You can put on some whipped cream or put some marshmallows in it. Just like you love it.

Or try this easy recipe for one
Me found this yummy recipe at Epicurious.com. Just follow the easy steps – or ask someone to help. Hey, me ask help all the time…
You need:
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocao powder
- 1 to 2 tablespoons of sugar (add to taste)
- a pinch of salt
- 1 cup of milk – this can be cow milk, goat milk, soy milk, almond milk… just what you like
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Mix the cocoa, sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons of milk in a small sauce- or milkpan over a medium/low heat until the cocoa and the sugar are complete disappeared. Mix in the rest of the milk over a medium heat. Whisk occasionally until the mixture is hot. Stir in the vanilla and add whipped cream or marshmallows to taste.

O, this is gonna be so good! Enjoy your hot chocolate. Me sure me will! Me gonna add a yummy cookie in the mix.
