One of me fave museums in the Netherlands is the Mauritshuis in The Hague. Me have been there many times for Berry her work thingies. But… mostly we go and see a new exhibit at the special exhibit wing of the museum. This time we went with me buddies Keith and Richie to ALSO see the regular exhibits on 19 December 2019. And it was amazing! Me saw the girl with the pearl earring for the very first time! Awesome huh. Of course first Richie, Keith, Honeydrop and me went to have cake and coffee and tea… (pictures by Berry de Nijs)
First stop at the museum was the exhibit wing… Well, we really wanted to see the exhibit of Nicolaes Maes, one of the bestest students of no other than Dutch Master Rembrandt. It was amazing! The colours and the people and the puppies (yes there were dogs in the paintings as well). We really loved it.
Next stop was the rest of the museum. It was very nice. Me loved wandering through all the rooms and looking at the paintings. There were so many beautiful pictures. But the girl with the pearl earring… well, she stole me and Richie’s hearts!
Me loooved this painting too. There are lots and lots of animals in the painting. Me not sure if you can see it well enough here. Me searched for little blue monsters too, but they were not in the picture.
Next stop was lunch because hey, looking at art makes very, very hungry! Also we would go to the next museum soon.
At Museum Bredius there was this lovely exhibit going on about marine life. All paintings had something to do with sailing, sea and fishermen. Here are some details.
Before we went home, we went to say HI to Jantje. It a little statue of a little boy named Jantje. He is the main character of a Dutch nursery rhyme. Sadly he did not have cookies in his basket.
We had a great time. It was also the last instameet/meetup with friends of 2019! Yay me made it. Next week me will tell you more about the meetups me already had in 2020.
