Maybe it a little weird to talk about 4 different zoos in 1 article. But if you know that all these zoos are owned by the same company, than is not weird AT ALL. And last year we went to visit all of them. That was so much fun. Although owned by the same company, all four zoos are completely different. Okay there are similarities, but each zoo has its own unique thing. Like the safaris you can make at Beekse Bergen, the walk through habitats in ZooParc Overloon, the easy overview of Dierenrijk and the aquatic animals in AquaZoo Leeuwarden. It fun to see and experience it all. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)
Safaripark Beekse Bergen April 19 & October 17 2019
We have a subscription to Beekse Bergen and like to go at least twice a year. Last year in April it was soooooo hot, we only did the car safari and a little bit of the walk safari. During the car safari you can drive through the enclosures. That is soooo neat. Sometimes a giraffe starts licking the car or a cheetah walks by. Me love it. In October we walked the whole route, because the temperature was really nice.
AquaZoo Leeuwarden April 29 2019
AquaZoo Leeuwarden is a zoo where animals live that like to be in, under or near water. There are polar bears, penguins and fishees for example. And sea lions, flamingos, raccoons and otters and alligators and SO MUCH MORE. It not a very large zoo, but it is a very nice zoo to visit. O and this croc is not real, but it was funny cuz Berry thought he was real and she was totally startled by it hihi.
Dierenrijk July 5 2019
WORK THINGY TIME! Yes the new habitat of the rhinos opened on July 5 and me got to tag along to be one of the first plushies to see it (hihi). Me such a lucky monster. It was a very very sunny day, but that was okay. Berry and me enjoyed the animals on our walk to the new enclosure and enjoyed the beautiful rhinos too. It was very festive with music and such. Me loved it. We go to Dierenrijk mostly once per year because it is such a nice, friendly zoo. The picture we use for the At the Zoo serie was taken there too. It one of me fave pictures too. OH: the rhino head selfie? Not a real rhino! The real ones were just chilling at their new home.
ZooParc Overloon November 21 2019
On November 21 Bamboo joined us to visit ZooParc Overloon. He had heard red pandas live there and he wanted to say hi to his family. We did not see them up close, but we did see a lot of other cool animals! They have an anteater at this zoo that we wanted to see – it was sleeping – and all kinds of other animals. Super cool is that you have all these walk through enclosures, so you are really close to some animals. Petting is not allowed – ofcourse – but it is sooo fun to be so close to beautiful animals. We just had a great day. And Bamboo got to play in the bamboo hihi.
