Having fun at Madurodam

It feels like forever now that me saw me buddies Richie and Keith at Madurodam on March 12 2020. It was the last day trip me had before all zoos, museums and themeparks closed due to corona. When me write this (it is April), we are still staying home and staying safe and trying to make the best of a weird situation. Me is very happy though that we went out and had fun. Because the sun was shining and Madurodam is just a very very fun place to be. Even the little elephants are tall here hihi. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Madurodam is a world filled with all the landmarks of the Netherlands. But than in miniature style. Lovely churches, beer factories, Schiphol, the Rotterdam harbour and the tulipfields are ALL there. It is amazing to see all these lovely sites. Honeydrop showed off her new spring dress and loved that she could fit in the scenery. But… she was tall in that world too. Hihi.

Madurodam is an ode to George Maduro, he was a genuine World War II hero. He was born on CuraƧao but studied in the Netherlands. He saved a lot of people before he got killed in a camp. His parents wanted to honour his legacy and donated money to mrs. Boon-van der Starp to open Madurodam in The Hague. Mrs. Boon-van der Starp needed money so she could send kids with tbc to a special school. The park opened at July 2nd 1952. It is a magical place where the history of the Netherlands comes to life, but it is also a place were funds are raised for foundations. The story of Maduro as well of the history of the Netherlands is told in here. It amazing.

It really is an amazing place! You can see every landmark of the Netherlands in just one day! Also nijntje and nina are there at the playground (me love nijntje).

At some places you can put a factory to work. Me got a tulip pin at the tulipfields, Richie and Keith got a chocolate from the Mars factory and me got some wooden shoes… well… made of porcelain but they are adorable. They even fitted Keith!

Me fave places? Tiny Utrecht and the HUGE tulips hihi.

But me also loved the TESO boat, Utrecht Central Station, the Heineken factory, Palace of Soestdijk and many many MANY more landmarks. Me just show you some more pictures here.

Well… me hope between writing this and publishing this story me went on another daytrip again… Just because me want to tell you guys more about it! Hihi.
