Cookie At the Museum part 2: Van Gogh Museum

One of the Dutch most famous painters worldwide is Vincent van Gogh. He was a really gifted genius with his own style. That is why he has his own museum in the Netherlands: the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. They have lots of paintings made by Vincent, but they also host exhibits featuring other artists that in one way or the other were inspired by Vincent. Me usually get to visit the popular museum on Berry her work thingy days when there is a new exhibit. Did you know visitors are not allowed to take photos at the Van Gogh Museum? That is why it is extra special that press people on work thingies are allowed to take pictures! It makes these visits even more special. (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Exhibit: Hockney | Van Gogh
David Hockney is known for his monumental paintings. These two made me feel like a teeny tiny monster! Cool huh. There is also a painting of nature made by Van Gogh in the second photo.

Exhibit: Sunflowers
Vincent is very famous for his Sunflower paintings. This exhibit not only showed the one owned by the museum, but also the other paintings from the time Vincent lived in the yellow house in Arles. There was also some educational stuff about the restauration of the Sunflower painting.

Exhibit: Jean-François Millet: Sowing the seeds of modern art
Me was so lucky to see 2 exhibits about the artist Jean-François Millet, the one at the Mesdag Collectie will come by later in these At the Museum series. This French painter was an inspiration for many artists, and also for Vincent. He made lots of iconic paintings. Me love these sheepies and the women picking grains. You think they will make cookies with it?
