Me love Keukenhof – me visits in 2018

O boy o boy o boy, me loved writing about me instameets at Keukenhof this year so much, me already made a follow up to tell you more about the other visits me had this year. Like me told you before, me got to visit Keukenhof 5 times this year. 2 times for instameets, 3 times for Berry her work (at one time we had a little instameet even). It was so much fun. And the best part? Me saw how magical nature is, because with every visit (the other 2 included) the park changes in colours, flower varieties and exhibits too.

March 20: the opening of Keukenhof

Every year the Keukenhof has a big party for guests and press. On that day press (like bloggers) get more information about the estate, the theme and the accomplishments of the year before. It so much fun. Because we also get a tour through the park. And ofcourse me can take some pictures with the first flowers that are growing in the park. After the tours and the talks there always is a big gathering at the first pavilion. It always fun, because there are lots of fun activities. O and me always get me picture taken with the hostesses.

March 27: blessing the flowers for the Pope

The second visit was just a week later because Easter was early this year. You must know the flower arrangements at the Vatican during Easter are Dutch spring flowers. That is pretty cool and to be proud of. Since last year the transport with all the flowers leave from Keukenhof. And to wish the flowers and the transport a good trip there is an official blessing made by the Bisshop of Rotterdam. Me think that is truly special to see. After the blessings we stay to wave at the drivers until the leave the estate. Also Berry and me were allowed to explore the gardens again. We went to the pavilion with the gorgeous orchids, went back to the tulipfilled pavilion and explored the gardens behind the windmill. O, and Berry brought two naughty but cute little Easter bunnies too. Hihi.

April 21: Flower float parade

O boy! Me had to get up EARLY to go to Keukenhof that day. Last year Berry was also invited to attend the Flower float parade but we got stuck in traffic so bad we never made it to the parade! So, this year, Berry set the alarm real early and we got in the car at 7 am so we could arrive there at 8 am – it was already really crowded with people! We were so happy to be there this early. The sunlight on the flowers is soooo beautiful! A lot of pictures were made. In the afternoon we got to have lunch at the office building and after that me was so amazed by the parade! It was soooo beautiful and exciting. The Flower float parade had these magnificent floats with sculptures and diorama’s all made of bulbflowers like tulips and daffodils. Me not sure which float was the prettiest because me loved them all!

Visit Keukenhof yourself

Me can totally recommend it to visit Keukenhof yourself in Dutch Spring time. The only down side is, that the park is only open for 8 weeks per year. If you want to plan a visit, go to Keukenhof.nl.

Want to read more?

If you can read Dutch or do not mind to use Google Translate… you can read more about the Keukenhof on Berry her blog. Just click on the three pictures here, they lead you to the articles.

Me also wrote a blog about Keukenhof for me friends Tipsy and Hope. You can find it on their websites: Honeygrovebears.com and Travelswithmycat.com.
