Cookie At the Museum part 10: Drents Museum

Yay! Part 10 is the first part of the 2020 At the Museum trips. And it was not even a work thingy. Berry wanted to see the exhibit very much and her dad too. So we hopped on the bike, than the train and went to Assen. It was so much fun. It already started outside the train station of Assen with a HUGE statue of a dog called Mannes. And then we saw the statue of Bartje, a very famous book character in the Netherlands and especially for the province of Drenthe. That was already very cool. The museum was cool too! (pictures by Berry de Nijs)

Mannes & Bartje

Because they are very iconic for Drenthe and Assen, me just have to show you Mannes and Bartje too.

Exhibit: Barbizon of the North
This exhibit shows a lot of rustic and rural paintings. The nature and country side of Drenthe is the subject of all these paintings. Me loved it! Just look at the cows and the cute sheepies! And ofcourse the hunebedden and… and… there were two Van Gogh paintings too!!! The little one was newly acquired by the museum. Cool huh. We also saw the rest of the museum, but did not take any pictures there. O and Berry adopted a new friend. Did you know mammoths roamed in Drenthe during the last Ice Age? Well they did! And at the museum they have a mammoth too. So… we adopted a little one hihi.
